For instance Indigenous Australians believed in sorcery and supernatural punishment, it was  generall   y used when an offender is not able to be ph!   ysically punished because they are  lacking for whatever reason, this form of punishment was feared by the people and  in like manner acted as a social control as they  upturned that it  may be used against them if they didnt follow the law.
